The Lincolnville Museum & Cultural Center and partners The Woman's Exchange of St. Augustine, The St. Johns Cultural Council and the St. Augustine Historical Society are pleased to invite you to join us for brunch.

This special event will celebrate the unveiling of the newest LMCC exhibit, “1838-1890 : A Brief Exposé on African American History in St Augustine” focusing on the African American story in St Augustine from 1838-1890. Be among the first to tour this exhibit which covers topics ranging from Florida Statehood through the Post-Reconstruction Era, including a look at Frederick Douglass’s time in St. Augustine and African American fashion post Civil War.

Joining us will be special guests Lana Turner, Chair of The Literary Society of New York City and celebrated designer Cassandra Bromfield who bring the story of Anna Murray Douglass to life - Frederick Douglass's wife of 44 years. Learn how the power of stitchery helped Frederick Douglass reach freedom and how the often-overlooked Anna helped build his enduring legacy. Together, Lana and Cassandra were recently featured in in the New York Times for their recreation of Anna's famed plum wedding dress, which will also be on display.

Tickets are $30 plus tax & Eventbrite Fees and include a buffet brunch, 1 drink ticket and admission to the museum. A cash bar will be available. Advance purchase is required, tickets are non-refundable.
