Juneteenth- Let Freedom Sing!

On Saturday, June 19th, the St. Augustine Amphitheatre will host the St. Augustine Music Festival’s 15th Anniversary Celebration featuring two groundbreaking concerts to celebrate the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States.

Enjoy world-class musicians and multi-community choirs with an inspiring selection of spirituals and classical works rejoicing in the triumphs of the Civil Rights Movement.

The 3:00 PM concert features words from Dr. Martin Luther King, among others, plus works from two of the greatest African-American women composers: Margaret Bonds and Florence Price.

The 7:30 PM concert showcases classical music from Chevalier de Saint-Georges, a French composer of African ancestry, Beethoven, Stravinsky, and Jessie Montgomery.

The Lincolnville Museum & Cultural Center and the St. Augustine Art Association have partnered to curate an African American art and photography exhibit displayed between concerts.

Concerts presented by the St. Augustine Music Festival are free, but attendees must register and reserve tickets to enjoy the show.
