1838-1890 : A Brief Exposé on African American History in St Augustine.

The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center and the Woman’s Exchange of St. Augustine are partnering to present two exhibits! The first exhibit “ 1838-1890 : A Brief Exposé on African American History in St Augustine” presents various topics from Florida Statehood through the Post-Reconstruction Era, including a look at Fredrick Douglass’s time in St. Augustine and African American fashion post Civil War. This exhibit will open on February 10th at the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center.

The Women’s Exchange is presenting an exhibit on Anna Murray Douglass, Frederick Douglass’s first wife, and features a recreation of her wedding dress. The dress is designed by New York fashion designer, Cassandra Bromfield. The exhibit will be on display at the Pena-Peck House.
