On its surface, Unearthed Treasures of Lincolnville is simply an exhibit of discovery, of finding what is within the Lincolnville Museum’s archives. Beyond that, this exhibit solidifies Lincolnville’s importance as a national example of the Black experience in America. St. Augustine has “the oldest black heritage of any continuous settlement in the United States”, and Lincolnville is just one part of that heritage. A virtual walk-through of Unearthed Treasures will conclude the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center’s two-year archival project, the Lincolnville Archival Access Project.
Learn more about the project and digital exhibit at the walkthrough, which will be on Thursday, July 27th at 5pm via Zoom. Registration is required, which is available here.

This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation's libraries and museums. We advance, support, and empower America's museums, libraries, and related organizations through grantmaking, research, and policy development. IMLS envisions a nation where individuals and communities have access to museums and libraries to learn from and be inspired by the trusted information, ideas, and stories they contain about our diverse natural and cultural heritage.
